We have full access to your vehicle servicing schedule and can carry a personalised service in accordance with its specification – please contact us to discuss further.

Most vehicles require a major service at least every 3 years to include a brake fluid and coolant change. If you are a high mileage driver the servicing period will be over a shorter period. A full service is normally carried out annually with an interim between these periods for high mileage users. If you are unsure on what level of service is required have a chat with us.

Oil & Filter Change

Your vehicle’s oil filter is an integral part of the engine. It carries away dirt and metal particles. These contaminants are removed from the oil by the oil filter and over time this debris can block the filter, so it’s important that it’s replaced on a regular basis. High mileage users often have their oil and filter changed between services.

MOT

All vehicles over 3 years old are required by UK law to have an annual safety check call an MOT to make sure the vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards. It’s the responsibility of the owner to renew their MOT certificate and without it, you are unable to drive your vehicle legally, or renew your road fund license.

The earliest date to MOT your vehicle can be found on your last MOT certificate. You can have an MOT test completed up to one month before the expiry of your current MOT, without it affecting the annual expiry date.

The MOT process is governed by strict rules set down by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA).
It is very important to note that an MOT is a safety inspection of your vehicle only. You still need to service your vehicle regularly to make sure it operates correctly.

Brake Fluid Change

Did you know the average motorist who drives 10,000 to 15,000 miles a year uses his brakes about 70,000 times a year?

After three years of service, the average boiling point of the brake fluid has dropped to a potentially dangerous level because of moisture contamination and may not meet minimum requirements for brake fluid.

Probably half of all cars are 10 or more years old have never had their brake fluid changed.

Brake fluid is stored in the master brake cylinder reservoir. The reservoir is usually a translucent plastic container on top of the master cylinder. This allows you to see the fluid level inside without having to remove the filler cap. Opening the cap unnecessarily should be avoided because it allows moist air to enter the reservoir, and moisture is not good for brake fluid.

It is important to change the brake fluid a minimum of every 3 years to reduce the risk of brakes failing and to maintain good braking efficiency.

Coolant Change

Engine coolant is the fluid that pulls the heat from your engine and then dissipates that heat as it passes through the radiator. If the coolant is old or contaminated it will not cool down the engine and may lead to major damage to your vehicle.

The appearance of engine coolant (commonly called anti‐freeze) has very little to do with its condition or the need to replace it. It is recommended to have the coolant inspected regularly and changed within manufacturers guidelines.
Diagnostic Check/Examination

An automotive scan tool (scanner) is an electronic tool used to interface with,a vehicles computer system and, sometimes, reprogram vehicle control modules. There are many types of diagnostic tools. We have invested heavily in such items. However, some vehicles and problems will need even more advanced systems and we can help facilitate this work via main dealers and other businesses for whom we have excellent working relationships and trade agreements.

Wheel Alignment (tracking)

Wheel alignment, or tracking, is the process of ensuring your vehicle’s wheels are set to the optimum position, as per the car manufacturer’s specifications.

Incorrect alignment can result in irregular tyre wear and can even affect the handling and safety of the vehicle.

Wheel alignment problems can be caused by hitting a kerb, driving into a pothole in the road or by excessive wear to steering or suspension components. It is important to get your wheel alignment checked annually to ensure you get the most out of your tyres.

Checking your wheel alignment regularly can prolong the life of your tyres by up to 12,000 miles and increase fuel efficiency due to the reduced rolling resistance with the road – saving you pounds at the pump.

Keep an eye out for unusual wear on your tyres, such as premature wear on the inside or outside shoulder, which could be a sign of incorrect alignment.

Air-Conditioning Service

Over two thirds of all vehicles manufactured today come with air conditioning as standard.

Many drivers experience the benefits of air con in their car or van on a hot day but just like other parts of your car, the air-conditioning system also needs regular attention to ensure it continues to work efficiently and effectively.

You may not be aware that over 10% of air-con gas permeates from the air-con system every year, which means that it may not work as well as it should. This is why car manufacturers recommend your air-con system is recharged with gas and lubricant every 2 years. This service is not part of routine vehicle servicing, so if your vehicle is more than 2 years old it’s probably due an air-con recharge.

We are able to detect major faults with you’re a/c system and our machine will not re-gas thus saving you the cost of the service. However, we are unable to detect minor gas leaks or other issues that lead to a slow loss of gas and cannot be held liable for this. Over time high pressure pipes and joints deteriorate as well as the A/C condenser unit. We can sometimes identify these leaks using coloured gas and UV glasses but there still may be other leaks undetectable using this method – we will advise you of the best course of action.
